I’m Tired

I’m so tired right now I can’t sleep so I am going to write something. I thought it would be funny if I misspelled right and write in the first sentence, but now I’m paranoid about misspelling the word misspelling and misspelled. Uno momento. OK Im back. Had to check websters.com, it’s write. LOL
That’s funny!
The point is that I am too tired to sleep and think I am incredibly hillarious.
No–the point is I had an incredibly busy weekend and have been forced to face reality that the weekend must come to an end. (sad face)

I had Atlanta Pride, My Birthday, and Halloween rolled into one weekend, and that is just not right. Or is it write.

I figured I would keep writing or rambling until I get sleepy but it is not working.
What did you do this weekend?
Glad I asked myself that question and I am sure the three people who are reading this were wondering the same thing.

Here it be:
Wed–Went to Woof’s then to Blake’s where I met Kim from Housewives of Atlanta. I didn’t so much meet her because she is not a real celebrity, but I came close to her and discovered she has an incredibly small nose. She wishes me Happy F***ing Birthday on the mic and got a hoot from the crowd, so that was enough for me. (I am going to get so many vulgar unwanted comments, I fear for typing the word f***ing).

Thurs–Don’t remember. It was Thursday

Friday–I know what I did, went to Burkharts, met two porn stars who showed me their yamma jamma’s and I promised them that I would buy their DVD. ( I didn’t buy it but I got a free peek, and it wasn’t that impressive, and I didn’t even ask). Discovered frenimies is a real word and I actually have one. Danced with Pissant (my friend’s nickname – don’t ask) was disappointed by the Halloween Contest and discussed previous mentioned frenimies all the way home; annoying SE in the process.

Saturday–Slept in real late. Went to watch SE in rugby matches, they won both!!! Yeah!!! Had awkward lunch/dinner while watching the Georgia Game, they lost!!!  Boo!!!!  And, I was pushed down steps where I scraped both my arms and required stitches in both. Mind you this was also Halloween and there was also a full moon - also I did not get stitches and was not actually pushed – it was more of a trip….that I did myself.. but never the less— for dramatic reasons, I have to say that to be sure it is some how included in my auto biography). Which will be published..NEVER! Saturday night I skipped the gigantic line at the second hottest club in town, where a bunch of scandily clad youngsters were dressed in costumes for the holiday season. I felt so important and like a VIP. Saw old friends, miss you J, dance with my man J, and new friend J, thanks J’s, and met my best friend’s EX’s new man? who was a hot J.!!  (Confusing huh?) Anyway, the moral is, I was not necessarily thinking about Halloween, rather than counting down the minutes to my BDAY. At the stroke (hehe) of midnight, I declared it was my birthday. I was already toasted so no need for a toast - only patron.

Sidenote: If you are grown, and are able to drink it is not cool to get drunk. Getting drunk is for people under 21 who think it is cool.
Sidenote 2: People over 25 years old should not wear A & F.
Sidenote 3: Was called an alcoholic by previously named frenimies and thought this was a funny post for facebook ” my friend just told me I was an alcoholic, but I thought about and I think it just the alcohol talking”. In the moment it would be funny, but I have recovering alcoholics on my facebook, so it may not have been really funny to them. Think before you post.
Sidenote 4: If a drag queen spills a drink on YOU, and by YOU I mean ME, then that drag queen must replace drink, that is just gay etiquette. The shot was a nice touch. (smiley face)

Sunday–It’s my birthday. Im 32. Such a boring number. Went to pride parade, same ole same ole. Upset because SE ( the contents of this passage has been deleted by the publisher and supervisor of the website, that of course being my SE).

Now it’s time to get to work. I got tomorrow off. I am going to try more often to write more, but it is so challenging to be forced to write and be entertaining at the same time. Im getting sleepy now, so maybe I will have something to write about tomorrow. Like one of my dreams. Yeah maybe I will have that one dream where I’m flying, or where I am famous but not a real celebrity. Or maybe have that dream about (this passage has also been deleted).

Good Nite, Happy Halloween, Happy Birthday, Happy Pride, Happy to be Alive, Happy, Doc, Bashful, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey and SLEEPY. I can’t believe I knew all those.

Pam Ann is an internationally known comedian who is best known for her mixture of drag, camp glamour and airline knowledge.  She will be performing her show at the Tabernacle next month (Sunday, October 25th, at 7:00 p.m.).    We recently talked to her about her USA LAYOVER TOUR, why the gays love her, and the Atlanta Housewives.

GAG:  Thanks for taking the time to talk to today.

PA:  No problem.  I love your accent.

GAG: Do you?  Well, I love yours too.  (Laughter from both)  Have you ever been to Atlanta before?

PA:  No I haven’t.  I have only performed in Los Angeles, New York City, and Philadelphia.  I am looking forward to my Atlanta visit.

GAG:  Well we can’t wait to have you.  Do you have to change up your material for the US audiences?

PA:  Really?  I’m so excited about Atlanta.  I don’t know much about Atlanta yet, but I am going to try and get as much information I can before the show, I really want to tap into that whole Atlanta thing.  You have that whole housewives thing going on there, I’ve been watching.

GAG:  Have you ever been a real flight attendant before?

PA:  No I haven’t.  I’m just a weirdo!

GAG:  Where did the idea come from?

PA:  Well, being an honorary gay man, (laughter), I love themed parties.  So I had a James Bond themed birthday party and of course, he only flew Pan Am.  It was the most sheik airline at one time.  Well, all through the night someone started to call me Pam Ann, and I began to think—this would make a good character.  I like the whole sixties era with the big hair, and make-up, and I wanted to do something, I just didn’t know what.  It happened quite organically really, and it just kind of happened really.  Plus, I am a big plane geek.

GAG:  Why do the gays like you so much?

PA:  (Laughing) The big hair, sparkles, I don’t know.  The gays created me really, I was a blank canvas and the character just progressed.

GAG: You have a lot of audience participation in the show.   Is that your favorite?

PA:  My favorite, favorite part of the show is that.  I wish I could do that the entire time.  People laugh and really enjoy it.

GAG:  What is the strangest thing that has ever happened?

PA:  Well you know, you get what you think will be some old shy reserved guy, and those are the ones that go absolute mental.  Also, I was doing a show in Germany once, and some audience members seriously got on stage and believed they were on an actual plane.  All other sorts of things have happened, like I was offered cocaine once, and I was like, Hey, wait till the shows over!  (laughing).

GAG:  What can a first time flier expect from one of your shows?

PA:  A nervous flier may feel like they are high jacked.  You know that unsettling feeling in your heart that kind of freaks you out.  Your heart drops and you try not to look scared, but you really are.  That is what you can expect.

GAG:  Sounds like a lot of fun.  Is there anything you would like to tell the Atlanta audiences before you fly in to town?

PA:  I would like to say something to the housewives.

GAG:  OK

PA:  Tell them that I would rather cry in a Royals Royce than be happy riding a bike!!!

(Both Laughing)

Friends

Last night I went to Woof’s to watch the Georgia Dawgs beat the Arkansas Piggies.  It was a blast.  I saw friends I haven’t seen in a while, had alot of beers and enjoyed watching the game in an atmosphere where everyone was pulling for the same team.

What’s interesting is that I actually discussed other issues with my friends that don’t really concern the gay community.  It seems that there are distinctions when you use the word “friend”.  Some friends are really just acquaintances you see out socially and talk about typical gay conversation pieces.  Like sex, and being drunk–and that is the extent of the relationship.  Other friends you know for years, who can read all the pages of your book and you can trust them with your life.   Then there are other friends that are in between the two spectrums.

I recently met a couple about a month ago and we were basically drinking buddies.  But last night I think something might have changed.  It was like we actually got to know who each other really are.  We talked about sports, work, marriage, etc….  Everything that you talk about when you are trying to fill someone out before you allow yourself to create a bond of friendship.  I learned alot about these two previous strangers that I would have never expected and that got me to thinking….  How many people have I not been friends with just because of what I thought they were?

I think what I learned is that you never know what to expect or what someone has been through until you get the opportunity to get to know them outside of the gay world.  Don’t get me wrong, I love the gays and bars and alcohol and sex conversations, but it is sometimes nice to get to know other people for who they are and to start a genuine friendship that could last a lifetime.  (maybe, I have been known to be a bit moody :) )

Kristine W – the “Power of Music”

The newest release with 5 #1 hits from Kristine W

The newest release with 5 #1 hits from Kristine W

Most would agree that it’s unheard of for an album to have four # 1 hits prior to being released, but this is only fitting for the artist herself who now has a total of thirteen #1 Billboard hits and has surpassed both Janet Jackson and Madonna to become the artist with the most consecutive # 1 Billboard Dance hits.  Her most recent album titled “Power of Music” was released this summer and G.A.G. recently caught up with her to discuss her new album and appearance at this year’s Pearl Day in Atlanta.   My exclusive Question and Answer with Kristine W follows:

G.A.G - Your recent album has five number one hits on the Billboard Charts, bringing your total to fourteen.  That is quite an accomplishment.  Do you still get excited to see your singles do so well?

Kristine W - Absolutely.  Especially now when every pop, R&B, rap, country artist competing on the dance charts competing for the top position.

G.A.G – Your latest single is titled “Be Alright”.  With everything going on in the world today, why do you think that message is so important?

Kristine W – Nothing ever good ever comes from being negative.  Right now, we as artists need to concentrate on bringing positive messages to the people.

G.A.G – The gay community has loved you for years.  Why do you think that is so?

Kristine W - I think the gay community has embraced not only my music but me as a person because I never judge them or their lifestyle or anybody else’s for that matter.  Music was a gift I was given and I need to share it with as many people as I can for as long as I can.

G.A.G – You will be in Atlanta for Pearl Day on September 11th.   Have you ever been to the ATL before, and if so, what do you think of the city?

Kristine W - Yes – I really love Atlanta.  The city and the people have amazing energy and I always look forward to performing there.

G.A.G – What can the crowd expect from one of your live performances?

Kristine W – I have grown up being a performing artist and that is what I focused on so they can always expect a killer live show with me playing a couple instruments.

G.A.G – Any surprises that we can expect for your Pearl Day show?

Kristine W - I will have my background singers with me and we will be doing most of my hits including some new songs from my new album, “The Power of Music.”  Also, what we are wearing will be a surprise because it will be a surprise to me also.

G.A.G – If you can say one thing to Atlanta’s gay community and all people in general, what would that message be?

Kristine W – I am thankful that “The Power of Music” has brought us together and continues to keep us that way.

Be sure to check out Kristine W’s new album “Power of Music in stores now.  G.A.G was fortunate enough to review the album before the Question and Answer and it is certainly some of her best work!  Way to go Kristine W!!!

A very special thank you to Clint Kaminska, Marketing Manager with Miles High Productions in Hollywood, CA for arranging this Question and Answer!
